My Songs – the choir
My Songs – the choir After holding 25 My Songs workshops, I now start a My Songs choir. Here we will only sing songs that I have written. It will be both funky up-tempo-gospel and beautiful ballads – songs with hope, joy, depth and presence. Many of you have already sung several of my songs over the years. Now we give them their own space. Here we get closer to the songs, stories, lyrics and expression behind the music. We have to work with sound, timing, energy, interpretation and presence – warm, unpretentious and alive and with lots of humor. My songs are written for choir – and many of them with you in mind. For voices that meet and create something that is bigger than the individual. I am really looking forward to unfolding the universe even more with you. My Songs will be part of The Gospel Choir on Tuesdays and Copenhagen Gospel Voices on Thursdays – both days at 19.30–21.30. With two Grammy Awards and world hits such as Every Praise and Better, Hezekiah Walker has left his mark on gospel all over the world. He has also been a huge role model for me as a gospel artist. We have worked together for several years and Hezekiah appears on my recordings of It Is I and No Longer Bound by Fear. In 2019 we sang together with 2,000 gospel singers in Boxen in Herning, and in 2021 he visited SommerGospel. Now he comes to Copenhagen! In The Gospel Fellowship Copenhagen, you can attend a workshop on Wednesday 14 October or come to a concert on Friday 16 October. And of course you are most welcome to both.
