In both The Gospel Choir and in Copenhagen Gospel Voices, you can choose between two different teams.

It is not team 1 and team 2 in the sense of beginning and practiced.
These are two different choral experiences, each with its own musical focus.

You can choose one team — or sing along to both.

Team 1: The Gospel Experience

– is for you who want to sing gospel in a strong and energetic community.

Here we sing gospel with lots of groove, joy, power and presence. The repertoire is based on modern gospel — i.a. inspired by names like Kirk Franklin, Hezekiah Walker and Richard Smallwood — combined with selected songs by the undersigned.

We work with sound, timing, energy, expression and community. You don't need to be able to read sheet music and you don't need to have sung gospel before.

The most important thing is that you want to sing along.

Team 2: My Songs

– is for you who want to delve into my gospel songs.

Here we work with original songs written for choir — from uptempo gospel and funky grooves for ballads, worship and songs with a more lyrical presence.

The focus is on interpretation, sound, timing, energy and the special expression that arises when text, melody and choir merge into a higher unity.

The team is still open and accessible and you don't need to be able to read sheet music. But you must want to work with the songs and be part of a committed choral community.

What can you expect

When you come to choir, you meet a relaxed and committed community where we work with modern gospel, energy, timing, sound, expression and interpretation.

We sing without the requirement of music knowledge, and you will be helped well into the music along the way.

There is room for both you who have been singing in a choir for many years and you who have never tried gospel before.

This is how you do it

1. Choose the choir and team that suits you best.
2. Show up in week 35, 36 or 37.
3. Sing with — for free and without obligation.
4. Register on site if you feel like continuing.

Price

The autumn season 2026 consists of 15 meetings.

Regular price: dkk 995.
Price for you with less finances: dkk 695.
Free space: We want economics not to be what prevents someone from singing along. Therefore, there is also the possibility of free space if the economy is under a lot of pressure.

If you sing on both teams, you pay full price for one team and half price for the other.

Conductor

Both choirs are led by me, Hans Christian Jochimsen. I have many years of experience as a gospel choir director, songwriter and teacher.

The teaching is energetic, present and with a focus on both community, musicality and the special joy that arises when many voices sing together.
